Some quotations that inspire me and why...Just wanted to give you some random thoughts of mine...
One of the reasons why people hold on to memories so tight is because memories are the only thing that doesn’t change when everyone else does.

Some lines, quotes, excerpt mean more to you than others. They seem tailor made for you, so that you can understand your own situation better. The one written above is for me. I seem to go on and on and over and over the same feelings and memories and Kodak moments for certain people, just wondering and questioning what exactly went wrong there. The answer is easy, and now so in my face. People change. They changed. The end.
If you have only one smile in you, give it to the people you love. Don't be surly at home, then go out in the street and start grinning 'Good morning' at total strangers.
-Maya Angelou
There was a phase in my life, not many years ago, that I would go to sleep a crying, whimpering bitch and wake up an angry, fetid bitch. And I made the life of my loved ones a living hell. I resented them, I screamed at them and I blamed them for not understanding what goes on in my head- when I knew they had no way of knowing that. Every time I think of that time, I feel like I had let my family down. So, one breezy Sunday morning I read this quote, and I decided to follow it till the day I die.
Always try to find out where the inspiration of your heroes comes from, i.e., who inspires those who inspire you, who do your heroes look up to.
-Jon Bon Jovi
If my memory serves me right, it was JBJ on The Oprah Winfrey Show, who said the above lines. It was then I began my journey to know Maya Angelou, because she is one of the people who inspire Oprah herself. And it is not only true what JBJ said, but it also transformational. It changes the way you think, when you realise your hero has a hero. Or in fact when your Shero has a Shero. (Shero is She-Hero, a term coined by Maya Angelou)
You will be surprised at what you can live with.

arrrey .. i was not done commenting! .. my sis snatched her laptop ..
soo ...
abt the lines that inspire u n why they do ...
"people change" :) - i sense hurt here. and it seems fresh. makes me curious ...
and yes ... Don't be surly at home, then go out in the street and start grinning 'Good morning' at total strangers.--- it has a lot of meaning esp: for me ... my family gets the worst of me .. the acquaintances are so much better off ... sometimes it frustrates me :( ..
btw: i just wanted to tell u again.. that im a fan of ur poetry ..
wish u wud put up some more ..
stuff like this ::
At times I feel like a horrible person,
With me, nobody wants to be,
Sometimes I wish I was invisible,
And I realise I already am.
****
It all seemed easier, when I was a kid,
They said you should dream, and I did. ......
I cant talk about it but I can cry,
I cant talk about it but I can die,
I cant talk about it but I can write,
I cant talk about it and its alright.
....
it is JUST the kinda stuff that strikes a chord with me .. i mean... forget the content .. but ur expression. the directness. stoic tone. reeking of hurt/pain .. but so beautifully clinical-- sapped of emotions...
i dunno .. i really like something abt it .....
wish u wud write more ...
**forget the content does not mean that the content is not good or anything :D ..but that ... the beauty of ur poetry for me..lies more in the rhythm .. and expression .. and the thot that seems to have gone into it ..
btw: I did this on purpose .. brk up comments .. :D .. this way u have soooo many of 'em!!
signing off ..
Brain-Wreck .. (errm.. i think the Goths mistook the B for a T :D )
Cheers and God Bless!
Hey Ron, Train/ Brain/ Complete-Wreck..,
I m glad tht u did get th quote of Maya...its a hard one to get. People jst dont get it- including me- tht its not neccessary to only b nice to society rather than ur loved ones...
Hence took a oath to never be difficult with my family.
And..umm...the hurt...nothing new as such...just was reminded of a difficult time. Somehow it came up in a discussion a few hours before I started writing the blog. Trickled down onto it.
And, many would agree with me here that it is an honour to have you as a fan. I appreciate your writing so much that I lack the words for it. So, to have you say(or type) this means the world to me. Thank you. (PS. U mite have made my week!!!)
Altho, whoever reads my poetry always does ask me the same ol question: AM I THAT SAD IN LIFE?
So, new reslove now is to write some funnier stuff...should be hard cos i dont hav a knack for it...well, not yet!!!!
Cheers!!
and god bless ya!!
:)
Oh.. But I really like ur poetry! .. these lines that I quoted above have stayed with me :) .. so it all boils down to :: U ARE GOOD!! :D :D
... about the "sad in life" thingy- SEE! I Told You!!! .. and when I did ... *gulp gulp/pant pant* u actually brutally brushed me aside as background noise .. :D :D .. m so proud that I stand vindicated :P :P
Altho, dont TRY to do 'funny' in writing !! ..(that might end up like F.R.I.E.N.D.S Season 11 might have! -- m sure u get my drift :D) but if u ever feel the urge to, dont let it pass :) .. type away!..
Brain/Train/Complete Wreck .. Ron :D
I must say ..very powerful sayings specially th first one. It actually captures a lot of meaning into it.
The part 'There was a phase in my life..' (what i believe) is felt and experienced by many. Me included..and with time i started appreciating the fact that it was'nt there fault. Its bcoz with more maturity (not depending on ny one's age) one understands others better.
@Ron,
Pleasure is all mine,,,will try n put up some more of me emotionally handicapped songs ;)
Keep ur words pouring in.
they mean a lot to me...
love, n JLU
cut wrists/ meggie.
